If you come on your own, you won’t be alone for long, plenty of people in the same situation so don’t worry if you’re shy, this isn’t like a typical ‘networking event’, picture more of taking yourself off camping for a few days and amazingly finding that everyone else on the campsite is into magic internet money.

Bitcoiners come with and arrange to meetup at the Retreat with their Bitcoiner friends and bring along the occasional open-minded no-coiner as well as partners and kids, all are more than welcome. They might not be into Bitcoin but after meeting such a great group of Bitcoiners we’re sure it’ll speed up their journey. The event is not designed for kids as such but we are 100% happy to help plan any parent led activities for them.

All vehicles are welcome. Any particularly large motorhomes or anyone towing a caravan will need to make sure they can fit on site due to a narrow access lane. An alternative location to access the site is available. Please message us with details before booking and we can double check there will be no access problems if this is you.

There are a limited number of electric hookups on site located in field 5 on the site plan on a first-come-first-served basis and costing £15 extra for your stay.

Please do not rely on the postcode as it is shared with 25 other properties within half a mile of Nant-y-Big.

Unfortunately Nant-y-Big is not sign posted at the main road since the adjoining land belongs to others. From Sarn Bach proceed towards Cilan. After approximately 600 metres and having passed the Ty’r Lon Bed & Breakfast, you will see a small green metal shed on your left and the turning for Nant y-Big is 30 metres further on (also on your left).

There are ‘No Through Road’ and ‘Pedestrian’ signs at the single-track road entrance. Proceed along the road for a further 400 metres until you reach Nant-y-Big. Turn immediately right at the barrier system to arrive at reception.

The event benefits from being ‘far away’ and not the easiest place to get to with the unintended consequence of it being a fantastic commitment filter.

Those that make the effort to attend then find themselves in one of the most beautiful places in the country surrounded by equally committed Bitcoiners far away from the distractions of everyday life.

Upon arrival you will need the name/nym you booked under (no event tickets are issued). You’ll be advised of the different areas on site to help you choose the best place for you to make camp and given your scarce event t-shirt.

If no staff members are apparent upon your arrival at reception, please use the intercom system by pressing the top button, to let them know of your arrival.

If you are going to be arriving after 6pm then please let us know in advance if possible.

If you’ve never camped before, don’t worry! It’s really not that hard and there will be plenty of fellow campers around to give you a hand if needed.

Water standpipes are also dotted around the site but you’ll need to bring any other drinks you want. Cool boxes for drinks will be provided for the evening BBQs.

There are no places to buy food and drink within easy walking distance of the campsite but there are some a short drive away. For last minute supplies the SPAR located 5mins before you arrive is an easy one to stop at, you will also pass the Abersoch Farm Shop a few minutes before you arrive or you pass ASDA in Pwllheli just 20mins before you arrive.

Mobile reception is very patchy, especially in fields 1 & 2 but you can usually get a signal near reception where you can also access their WIFI. You can also usually get a mobile signal in fields 3 & 4.

We will set-up a temporary internet connection in the marquee with WIFI access that we ask campers only periodically connect to if needed so as to avoid overloading it.

There will also be access to power in the marquee with a USB charging hub & cables as well.

Cars can be parked alongside tents.

Only one car per tent in fields 1 & 2 – any extra vehicles there can park in the car park 30 metres away.

Yes but please do not publicly post any photos/video that identify other Bitcoiners without their permission.

Please be mindful of accidentally capturing people or car registrations in photo backgrounds as well.

No drones above the campsite please.

Quite a few but the campsite are our good friends and have faith in Bitcoiners, so they bend many, we repay that with respect. So use your common sense but please do note these:

  • The use of generators is not permitted on site.
  • No fires of any kind are allowed on site. Disposable and reusable BBQs must be raised above the ground.
  • All dogs must be kept on a lead at all times (to avoid Dog Fight Club), and fouling must be cleared up immediately.
  • Vehicles must not exceed 10mph on site.
  • Rubbish must not be left outside your tent (as wildlife will disperse it). Please segregate your rubbish for recycling. There are bins by reception, or kindly take it home.
  • There will be recycling (mixed: paper/cardboard/cans/glass/plastic bottles & tubs) and general waste bins at the marquee for the BBQs only, please clean up after yourself and others.
  • No rubbish to be left on the beach.
  • Please leave Nant-y-Big as you found it.

The boring bit, but more important especially if you’re planning on bringing your kids. We’ll have a medium first aid kit located in the marquee at all times and fire extinguishers located there as well for the BBQs.

Don’t believe the FUD, you do need sunscreen in Wales.

Maybe you have unrelated skills in art, yoga etc that would be cool to share with your peers. Join the Retreat and DM us or throw your ideas out in the event Telegram channel and maybe we can include it on the schedule.

Sure! We’re looking for supporters and if there are any ideas you have that you think would provide value or enhance the event in any way for the Bitcoiners attending then please reach out to us. DM us for sponsorship details.
